A fine English lowboy or dressing table in walnut and burl walnut. Four drawers with single drawer on top and three smaller drawers below. The drawers are all cock beaded with feather banding surrounding burl walnut panels. The cabriole legs also have a C-scroll at the top and end in slipper feet. The top is quarter veneered with feather banding. The brasses are correct for the period. With superlative marquetry inlays of satinwood quarter fans on the perimeter of each drawer as well as "Adam" style satinwood and ebony fan escutcheons, to the delicate checkered inlay on the cornice frieze, this Chest on Chest has it all. Please note that this is a superior made Chest on Chest having elm drawer linings versus the traditional oak or deal (pine) all standing upon handsome ogee feet.
