EARLY 19th CENTURY LUCHESE EMPIRE SIDEBOARD

About the Item

This beautiful empire sideboard, made in Lucca, represents a superlative example of Italian period furniture from the early 19th century (ca. 1810). Its combination of fine materials, craftsmanship and attention to detail make this sideboard a true work of art, both from a historical (Napoleonic era) and design point of view. The sideboard is in fact made entirely of solid cherry, which gives its structure unparalleled strength and beauty. The feral legs, thin and tapered, give visual lightness and a touch of elegance to the furniture; while the golden and ebonized finishes help to give the sideboard a refined and luxurious appearance. The doors and sides of the cupboard are also decorated with geometric carvings in fruit wood, made with great craftsmanship and typical of the taste of the time; the knobs are in bronze. Finally, the piece of furniture is ergonomic and spacious, despite its modest dimensions. Measurements: HxWxD 116 x 123.5 x 49cm.
