Design by Anton Lucas for N.V. Meubelkunst Leiden.
Striking Dutch design from the 1920s.
Solid oak base with original solid macassar ebony handles on doors and drawers.
In very good original condition with minor wear consistent with age and use, preserving a beautiful patina.

The Modernist look of this wonderful Art Deco sideboard or credenza by Cor Alons and executed by Fa. Winterkamp & Van Putten is also known in the Netherlands under the name Haagse School. The Haagse School was inspired by the designs of the famous architect Frank Lloyd Wright. The famous Dutch Art Magazine Wendingen published a series of articles on Frank Lloyd Wright in 1925. Well known architects of the Haagse School are Hendrik Wouda, Jan Wils, Frits Spanjaard, Cor Alons and Jan Brunott.
