Vintage Painted French Country Enfilade Server

About the Item

This very large and impressive server was made in France by traditional craftsmen in or around 1950 to 1960. It still retains its old shipping label from France to this country and is made of good hardwood though we can't tell what that is as it's painted. The surface has a lovely old patina and is painted in two colors of gray with the top being in a totally different dark gunmetal gray color. The carved decorative elements are well done and scaled for the cabinet. Housing four doors enclosing three separate areas with an additional two drawers the piece has many uses and functions but foremost of all is its fine visual appeal while being able to contain a large amount of interior space. It comes with keys to all the lockable areas and the brasses, hinges and locks are all in fine working order. The entire surface has a great old patina and of course, some wear and rub through to the paint creating a nice visual look without the need to be concerned that it is a fine antique.
