19th Century Swedish Gustavian Secretary with Library
About the Item
This is an exquisite Swedish Gustavian period painted secretary with library. Brass hardware and original locks, circa 1820. The upper section has three shelves, behind shaped and reeded door. The lower section has a slant front. The finish shut it original and beautifully rustic. It has a slightly smaller scale than some other Secretaries of its time. Then open, the desk is full of multiple little drawers and an opening in the middle. These pieces are becoming harder and harder to find. A special piece!
