Antique Thomas Chippendale Revival Inverted Breakfront Partner Desk Leather Top

About the Item

We are delighted to offer this lovely flamed mahogany, Thomas Chippendale Revival twin pedestal, partner desk with Regency brown Leather top and inverted breakfront A very good looking and well made desk, it is a copy of an original Thomas Chippendale desk, it has the original geometric, Egyptian carvings on the top level of drawers and inverted break front so you sit slightly recessed inside the desk, the piece is made of very ornate flamed mahogany panels which have decorative swirls to the side panels, usually the inside of the pedestals would be left plain however this is a no expense spared commission so the same beading can be found inside. The top is the original hide with is brown leather and wonderfully patinated Condition wise we have deep cleaned, hand condition waxed and hand polished it from top to bottom, there are age and use related patina marks in the timber as you would expect from a vintage, used piece, nothing that detracts from the look and feel, quite the opposite in fact, the top is also patinated and there are one or two small pieces of beading trim missing Dimensions Height:- 76.5cm Width:- 137cm Depth:- 77cm Legroom Height:- 61cm Width:- 57cm Please note all measurements are taken at the widest point, This item is available for collection from our Pulborough warehouses RH20 1DF. Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of creasing and wear, we recommend annual waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.
