We are delighted to offer for sale this lovely burr yew wood oval pedestal partner desk with split panel oxblood leather writing surface and twin butlers serving trays A good looking and decorative desk. In the world of bog standard partner desks this piece really commands attention. It has some lovely features like being all drawers as apposed to the never used double filing drawers, it has two butlers servings trays or “slips” these were originally designed during the Regency period over 200 years ago, they were designed for drinks and snacks to be served on to protect the top of the furniture, on a desk they make good mouse shelfs or if your lucky enough to have a butler (or loved one that makes you snacks!) they can be used for their original purpose Condition wise the desk looks pretty much perfect to me, we have cleaned waxed and polished it from top to bottom, there may be the odd transport related mark here or there but it looks to be in fine order throughout Dimensions Height:- 76.5cm Width:- 145.5cm Depth:- 88.5cm Leg room Hight:- 61.5cm Width:- 46.5cm Please note all measurements are taken at the widest point This item is available for collection from our Pulborough warehouses Condition Please view the very detailed pictures as they form part of the description pertaining to the condition. Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of creasing and wear, we recommend annual waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.
