About the Item

We are delighted to offer for sale this huge Victorian twin pedestal 9 drawers 2 cupboards double sided Mahogany partner desk with oxblood leather top This desk is monumental, originally designed as you can see for two people to share, the depth of this desk is larger than most normal partner desks width This piece is period Victorian handmade in England from solid light mahogany, the locks have various stamps for GR for King George, Hobbs & Co, Arthur Smith Wolverhampton and so on, the desk comes with a large selection of keys, I'm assuming there's one for every lock but I haven't tried them. The desk is fully panelled as you can see from the sides, it has the same panelling on the inside which usually means the pedestals are interchangeable meaning you can have one cupboard and one row of drawers each side, again I haven't tried this. The desk has lovely oversized ball bearing casters for ease of movement We have deep cleaned hand condition waxed and hand polished it from top to bottom, the timber will have normal age-related patina marks here and there, the oxblood surface as well, its faded in places, I have can have it hand dyed a lovely rich brown colour for £250 should the new owners wish Dimensions Height 76.5 cm Width 182 cm Depth 121 cm Legroom Height 60 cm Width 86 cm Please note all measurements are taken at the widest point This item is available for collection from our Wimbledon warehouses Condition Please view the very detailed pictures as they form part of the description around condition Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of cracking creasing and wear, we recommend regular waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.
