About the Item

We are delighted to offer for sale this absolutely monumentally large Victorian twin pedestal 9 drawers 2 cupboards double sided mahogany partner desk. This desk is massive, originally designed as you can see for two people to share, the depth of this desk is larger than most normal large partner desks width. This piece is period Victorian handmade in England from solid mahogany, the drawers are light mahogany inside, The desk is fully paneled as you can see from the sides, it has the same paneling on the inside which usually means the pedestals are interchangeable meaning you can have one cupboard and one row of drawers each side, or all the drawers on one side and cupboards of the other, I haven't tried this and have pictured it as you see it. We have deep cleaned hand condition waxed and hand polished it from top to bottom, the timber will have normal age-related patina marks here and there, the top seems to be three planks of glorious wood which have age-related shrinkage as standard, there is also a deep scratch on one side which has been restored, its very rare to find these desk with a natural timber top, it looks amazing from every angle Dimensions: Height 79.5cm Width 192cm Depth 150cm Legroom Height 61cm Width 81cm. Please note all measurements are taken at the widest point. This item is available for collection from our Wimbledon warehouses. Condition: Please view the very detailed pictures as they form part of the description around condition. Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of cracking creasing and wear, we recommend regular waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.
