Antique GEORGIAN OFFICER'S MILITARY CAMPAIGN DRESSiNG CHEST WITH WRITING SLOPE

About the Item

We are delighted to offer for sale this lovely late 18th Century Mahogany Officers Military Campaign traveling chest of drawers. To start, under the top there is the original mirror that can come out between the little compartments, this can be smoothly adjusted at an angle you like or you can simply just put it straight. It does come also with two glass bottles (shown in picture 7 and 8). The first slim drawer gives you a sliding green fabric, writing slope all in very good condition, especially for its age. Under the slope, the drawer still has its original basin (picture 22), which it was used to clean either yourself or possessions, since there is a sheet to cover the drawers to prevent stains. On both sides of this gorgeous piece, it comes with strong brass handles for easy transportation. The long, slim and original legs were the main characteristic from the Georgian era. This is wonderful furniture, in good condition, apart from it having a long, thin crack on the left side, underneath the handle, as well as a few small marks here and there as you would expect from an antique piece. Unfortunately, it does not come with the key which is for the lockable top. In the end, this is an exquisite piece from any angle and for any room. All our items are cleaned thoroughly, then a coat of wax is applied to revive the leather/wood and finally hand polished.
