A vintage, 1970s, Henredon USA, Campaign chest of 3 long drawers. Hollywood Regency style. Made from stained Oak, with their original polished brass hardware handles and hinges. The chest is well made, solid and very heavy considering its size. The highly lacquered polished wood is finished with a rich dark brown stain that highlights the deep grain beautifully. Each drawer features dovetail joints illustrating the long lasting workmanship involved in their construction and of the chest itself. The chest of drawers are perfect for a bedroom as a bedside cabinet or in a dining or living room area, working well with any style of decor, from contemporary to mid century modern. In very good vintage condition and extremely sturdy. There are some small scratches which I've illustrated in the images. However, they're lacquered and polished into the surface which may mean that they have always been there because they're not new. Sourced from its original owners who moved to London recently. The pair together would look amazing. Among collectors, Henredon is admired both for its sleek, sexy furniture of the 1970s and for its partnerships with noted designers, a program that started in the 1950s with decorating icon Dorothy Draper and architect Frank Lloyd Wright. From the start, Henredon — the brand name is a portmanteau term, derived from the first names or initials of three of the company’s founders — has been best known for its vintage case pieces, such as cabinets, dressers, armoires and credenzas. Though not on the cutting edge stylistically, the company’s production has always kept pace with contemporary tastes. In 1953, Henredon began a collaboration with Dorothy Draper, famed for bravura interior design commissions such as the Fairmont Hotel in San Francisco and the Greenbrier resort in West Virginia. Her taste for bold, modernized historical style is reflected in the incised baroque medallions of her España line and the geometric motif of her Viennese furnishings group. In 1955, Henredon launched the Taliesin Ensemble by Wright, named after the architect’s houses in Wisconsin and Arizona. The pieces are recognizable by their angular shapes a dentil motif on their edges. In those years, Henredon had a cross-licensing agreement with the Heritage furniture company, and Draper and Wright furniture is usually labeled Heritage-Henredon. In later decades, Henredon produced collections for such designers as Ralph Lauren and Laura Ashley. This vintage campaign nine drawer dresser has been professionally restored, is made out of walnut wood, and has been newly stained in an ebonized color with a lacquered finish. The dresser comes with brass accents on all corners, two small side drawers, a large center drawer, and six large drawers underneath each of which has its original brass handles that have been newly polished. Breathtaking Mediterranean style Hollywood Regency dresser / credenza. Made by Thomasville Furniture Company, circa 1970s. Lots of flare packed into the this restored vintage Eastern inspired dresser. The richly grained golden fly-spec oak wood is accented with rattan trim and binding. Reed drawer fronts feature a light cream toned finish that sets a backdrop against patinated brass pulls. Hollywood Regency and Mediterranean modern meld together beautifully in this stunning and distinct Thomasville dresser. The leg columns are accented with bamboo / rattan knuckles at each drawer intersection. This piece can also be used in the living room as a credenza, or the dining room as a buffet.
