1946 Bespoke Handmade Art Deco Bar Engraved Bevel Mirror, Early 20th Century

About the Item

This Art Deco bar was handmade and installed in St Johns Wood London in 1946 and has remained there ever since. It is beautifully crafted from finely carved wood and top grade veneers and the mirrors have a bevel edge with engraved figures and curlicues in them. The bar front is approximate 250cm long + a 50cm pop up flap at the right hand end for entry and the bar back is approximate 260cm long (130cm aside)- there are a row of 4 cupboards with doors under the mirrors at back and 4 open cupboards under the bar top. The rear bar with mirrors height itself is approximate 216cm tall. The bar top is approximate 1m deep. This is a unique piece of UK postwar history handmade by English craftsmen of the time and it is in very good condition for its age - the mirror glass shows some frosting from age. The engravings are beautifully done and a lot of love was put into the design and construction of the bar itself. It has some electrics for lighting but they will need replacing with modern wiring depending on the regulations at your location. We will repolish the bar for you prior to shipping which will take 3-4 weeks.
