About the Item

A Jacobean court cupboard is a type of buffet that was used to display plates and other dinnerware. It is a short, three-tiered sideboard that was popular in the 16th and 17th centuries, especially in northern Europe. Jacobean style furniture is similar to the Elizabethan era, with sturdy, massive furniture that features perpendicular designs. Jacobean furniture is often richly carved, decorated with classical-inspired details like scrolls, columns, arches, and intricate geometric designs.
