1940's Stolzenberg Tambour Front Cabinet, Twenty Four Klappets

1940’s Stolzenberg tambour front cabinet – twenty four klappets 1940’s Stolzenberg tambour front cabinet – twenty four klappets. Stolzenberg was founded in 1898 in Baden-Ooos, now called Baden Baden, in southern Germany. Renowned as one of the finest cabinet makers of the period their pieces are exceptional. This piece is highly unusual as it is made throughout in solid golden pitch pine. The front is beautifully made, the klappets all work beautifully and they retain all the original branded handles. The klappets are beautifully framed and the construction through is superb, even the back is panelled. Our workshop team has gently restored this cabinet, replacing any worn klappet fixtures, making sure they all run smoothly, but essentially cleaning and waxing the piece to bring out the rich original details whilst retaining the character and history. Internal dimensions: 38W x 15H x 28 Long at the top, The base pigeon holes are 30L x 38W x 35H. All cm. WORKSHOP REPORT Our workshop team inspect every product and carry out any needed repairs to ensure that everything leaves us serviced and maintained ready for many more years of life. All of our vintage products show the rich beauty and history of their life with the knocks and bumps of many years of use and we try to minimise restoration to keep every piece as original as possible.
