About the Item

Beyond gorgeous The Blonde Marilyn Monroe Leaf Shelf is from the award-winning and museum-collected Leaf Series. It is a series that has been developed and refined over five decades. The series consists of shelves and tables. The top is sculpted from a large block of laminated alder, weighing approximately 225 pounds. The top is rough-sculpted with chainsaws and automobile disc grinders to the general shape. From there, smaller and gentler power tools are used to define the work and then meticulously worked by hand with files, rasps, and scrapers. The two stems are mortised into the top and then sculpted. The final phase is hours of sanding and the application of three coats of lacquer. Details: • The Blonde Marilyn Monroe Leaf Shelf can be ordered in other woods and finishes. • The Shelf is mounted to the wall with a wood cleat which is included along with mounting instructions. • For interior use only. • Net weight of the shelf is approximately 40 pounds.
