Rare 1980s ALU Manfrotto Modular Bookcase Shelf System Wall Unit or Display An amazing one-off 1980s modular shelf system / wall unit / retail display, by ALU, Italy, consisting of six poles and twelve shelves constructed of precision machined aluminum components, adjustable to many heights and configurations to suit many spaces. The three units can be installed together as a twelve-foot system or separate as three four-foot sections making it a truly modular system. Originally installed in the Giorgio Armani shop in Bal Harbor, FL, then re purposed to a Boca Raton estate. This system adds a touch of machine-age charm and elegant futurism to any space. It features two essential components: the Super Clamp and the Autopole. The Super Clamp, designed in 1974, boasts screw-operated jaws that securely fasten to various surfaces, allowing you to display lights, props, and screens with ease. The Autopole (1975), a lightweight telescopic expansion tube, delivers versatile functionality with its cantilever locking system and protective rubber base ends. In addition to these easy-to-install components, this complete system features twelve sleek, inter changeable aluminum shelves, each equipped with tension cables and counterweights.
