Antique 20th-Century French Art Deco Mahogany Veneered Display or Bar Cabinet

About the Item

This beautiful French Art Deco bar cabinet was made in mid-France in the early 20th century circa 1925. It features a strong geometric design that is typical for art deco furniture. The cabinet has a very special centerpiece that was made from 5 crystal tubes flanked by two glazed doors. The doors were decorated with scrolls in silver leaf and gold paint. On the interior, there are two special glass shelves. The shelves have a teardrop shape on the front side to give the glass shelves a thicker appearance. The back of the cabinet was upholstered with a woven fabric that has a natural beige base color and a yellow ochre zig-zag pattern. The whole cabinet was veneered with beautiful mahogany veneer and it was stained in a warm dark honey color finished with clear varnish and wax. The cabinet has working locks fitted with keys. The whole piece was gently cleaned and a new protective wax coat was added. The cabinet is almost a hundred years old and it shows some marks of use that contribute to the antique appearance of the piece. Note; the mahogany veneer used on this cabinet is Macrophylla Swietenia and is not subjected to CITES regulation. It therefore can be shipped across borders without problems.
