Continental 19th Century Ebonized Fruitwood And Tortoiseshell Cabinet Vitrine

About the Item

A very handsome and elegant Continental 19th century ebonized Fruitwood and Tortoiseshell cabinet vitrine. This beautiful freestanding vitrine is raised by four slender square tapered legs decorated by Tortoiseshell on all sides. Each leg is connected by an ebonized Fruitwood 'X' shaped stretcher with the same Tortoiseshell decoration with a circular central reserve. The straight ebonized Fruitwood front apron displays two rectangular Tortoiseshell panels with raised edges. The two side aprons as well as the two front corners have panels of similar Tortoiseshell decorations with protruding edges. The five sided display case has seven rectangular window panels decorated the same manner. Each of the seven window panels have mottled edges made of ebonized Fruitwood. The large scaled front door opens to reveal a glass shelf and light red colored paint inside each of the five sides. Inside is a magnificent scrolling foliate decorated light pink upholstery.
