About the Item
A superb French 19th century Louis XVI style Napoleon III Period Boulle cabinet vitrine. The ebony cabinet is raised on a scroll carved base, with an ormolu top border, centered by a finely chased ormolu winged mask amidst scrolled acanthus leaves flanked by ormolu rosettes. The glass door has an ormolu trim within the tortoiseshell and brass Boulle border. The door has two ormolu keyhole escutcheons and key and opens to two interior shelves. Above is an impressive and finely chased ormolu palmette border below the Fossil Nero marble top.
