Mid Century Display Showcase Cabinet in Teak by Dieter Waeckerlin, Behr, Germany

About the Item

Dimensions 86 x 43 x 119 cm (W x D x H) This elegant display showcase in teak veneer was designed by Swiss architect Dieter Wäckerlin and produced by Behr in Germany. The minimalist cabinet sits on a black metal base and has glass corners in the front. This is a rare showcase from Waeckerlins B-Series was designed in the 1950s. Waeckerlin was a cabinet maker, interior architect and furniture designer from Switzerland. His mid-century furniture is characterized by a puristic design language, especially visible in his famous sideboards. He developed furniture systems with Le Corbusier and became known for his collaboration with manufacturer Behr in Osnabrück. The showcase comes in wonderful refinished condition with only minor traces of use, some small scratches and bumbs on the wood and on the steelframe, very tiny marks on the edges, nothing that detracts. Overall appearance presents beautifully.
