Walnut Vitrine with Glass Door and Mirrored Back, circa 1900

About the Item

Generous storage and a delightful display case are paired in this remarkable vitrine. Crafted from beautiful walnut at the beginning of the twentieth century, the vitrine showcases a shaped bonnet, carvings of dainty flowers in planters at the mid-point, and small detail carvings below the bonnet and on the skirt. The vitrine is comprised of two pieces, joined at the back, and provides the versatility to store items discretely in the lower half, while proudly displaying your favorites in the upper gallery. The upper gallery features a beveled glass door and sides that are nearly 1/2 inch thick, making items inside visible from almost any angle. Behind the glass door, a glass shelf and a mirrored back add to the vitrine's open, airy look. The lower gallery features a drawer for storing small items over a raised panel door that opens to one shelf. Carved tapered legs add elegance and give the vitrine a height of just over 6.5 feet. Mirror at the back has been edited to remove reflection. One key for both locks.
