French 18th Century Louis XVI Period Oak Armoire

About the Item

An exceptional and extremely high quality, mid 18th century circa. 1750, French Louis XVI Period Normandy marriage armoire in dark Oak. The armoire with all original hardware including hinges going from the top to the bottom of the doors, has two exquisitely carved doors. The armoire raised by cabriole legs has a fine scrolled apron with pearls and foliate carvings. Both doors have carved baskets amidst flowers below and above moulded scrolled designs. At the top is a central bouquet below an important crown. Three original shelves inside.
