We are is delighted to offer for sale this stunning original 1850 Antique German Marriage wardrobe in very a rare blue colour with Religious Icon panels and super rare 1870 giltwood pediment I have recently purchased a very large collection of these original, antique painted wardrobes and trunks, I have around 15 wardrobes and 20 trunks in total, each one totally different, this sale is for the piece listed above with all others being listed under my other items This one is an exceptionally good looking well made and collectable wardrobe, the hand painted detailing is exquisite throughout, the piece comes complete with the original lock and key which are fully functional. This one has Religious icons panels to the front, Love Heart detailing to the sides, it also has a later added circa 1870 pediment which I have never seen before. The insides have been floral paper lined which again is rare Inside you have two hanging railed sections, one shelf and two small drawers Condition wise this wardrobe has all the original paint and finish, there will be age and use related patina marks as you would expect, all of which add to the honesty, charm and charisma of the wardrobe Dimensions Height:- 186cm wardrobe alone, including the pediment 208cm Width:- 144cm Depth:- 67cm wardrobe alone, including the pediment 71cm Please note all measurements are taken at the widest point. Condition Please view the very detailed pictures as they form part of the description around condition Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of cracking creasing and wear, we recommend regular waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.
