Antique barley twist oak mirror back sideboard, buffet, Scotland 1910, H390 Scotland 1910 Solid oak Original finish The sideboard comes into two pieces - the top and the base The top has a carved cornice with a pair of thick barley twist columns on the ends Bevelled mirror on the back The base with rectangular moulded top Pair of dovetailed drawers below Pair of carved doors underneath open to reveal single shelf to the right, pull out decanter holder The left side has no shelf Carved supports on the ends with shaped apron to the base All in good condition H390 Measures: Top 55" W x 9.5" D x 29" H, Base 54" W x 24" D x 38.5" H Shipping by Standard Freight (in 2 boxes, door to door with curbside delivery and insured) starts at $485.     This antique armoire is made from beautiful hardwood and burled walnut veneers. Easy to move and assemble, it is constructed from six separate pieces that stack together.     This is an antique, Edwardian mirror back sideboard dating to the early 20th century, circa 1910. Adorned with finals and classical motif in the boxwood inlay featuring urns, garlands and swags lend this piece the Greco overtones favored at the turn of the century. The rosewood displays beautifully with highly desirable grain detail in the counter top particularly; rich, warm tones glow in the sinuous graining beneath a highly polished finish. Raised on turned front legs united with the side stiles by the lower tier, the cabinet offers a central cupboard with field panel doors inlaid with urn motif. Flanking the cupboard, concave shelving beneath a frieze decorated with inlaid swags around a central drawer dressed with brass pulls.
