Gillows London Gentleman's Cabinet / Clothes Press

About the Item

A stunning quality Georgian Revival breakfront mahogany gentleman’s wardrobe/press. The cornice has a broken pediment with a carved laurel wreath in center and two inlaid garland motifs. The central twin doors open to reveal five oak dressing trays above an arrangement of two-over-two drawers, with cross-banded details and handles. The ends have full length mahogany twin paneled doors opening to reveal two brass hanging rails and an arrangement of brass hooks. The left compartment has two bottom drawers and the right compartment has one bottom drawer. The whole raised on a breakfront mahogany plinth. Ellipse shaped old patch in upper right hand door. See images. Stamped GILLOWS LANCASTER, English Regency, Circa 1820 ( Breaks down into 7 pieces ) each side is one large piece center is two stancked crown is in three pieces.
