1930s Pier Luigi Colli Art Deco Mid-Century Italian Wood Mirror Dry Bar Cabinet
About the Item
Unique and very elegant Italian Art Deco oval shaped dry bar cabinet, in walnut with double front door having amazing interior part with mirrors and a two-tier side bottle holders that is sliding out to the front when the two doors are opened. The piece is highlighted by the typical Pierluigi Colli frontal animal carved decors and the original antique brass handles.
The Art Deco style, that preceded Hollywood Regency and thereafter Mid-Century Modern, is all about making a big statement and was considered very glamorous, elegant, functional, and modern. Softly shaped patterns and smooth angles with the generous use of gold, glass, mirror and a variety of expensive and exotic materials. Attributed to the designer Pierluigi Colli, from the similar style of Gugliemo Ulrich and Vittorio Dassi, that inspired all the Italian Mid-Century Modern designers of that years such as Gio Ponti, Melchiorre Bega, Paolo Buffa and Luisa and Ico Parisi.
