About the Item

Handsome bar cart, dry bar, or tea cart. It is rolling with storage and a flip open top. Attributed to J. L. Metz Furniture Company from their Contempora line. Made of weathered cherry and brass. It is in fabulous vintage condition with purposeful patina on the brass and great age appropriate wear to the cherry wood. It is not marked with the maker name but is marked on its bottom with material and date, circa March 29,1959. Note: We do have the match credenza and hutch listed as well. This bar cart is just what you have been looking for! Very interesting, handsome, and versatile in both use and design. Its mid-century lines but with classical styling make it appropriate with many design styles. And, it has a myriad of uses be it bar cart, tea cart, or serving cart. It is comprised of a weathered cherry cabinet raised on brass square tube legs on casters and with round tube crossbars. The cabinet boasts double opening flat panel doors with a panel of burl wood. Behind the doors is plenty of storage with a single high fixed shelf. Two shelves on each end extend past the cabinet to the brass legs and each has a round tube brass rail. The top flips open to expose a work surface of white laminate. The attention to detail and the high-quality construction and materials will make this piece one you will use and love for a very long time. We know you love it. Make it yours. Marvelous vintage Rustic distressed wood & ceramic inset top bookshelf console table or rolling bar with new casters. Beautiful condition, keeping in mind that this is vintage and not new so will have signs of use and wear even if it has been refinished or restored. We attempt to portray any imperfections. Circa, Late 20th to Early 21st Century. They see me Rollin’….. they LOVIN’ this awesome cart!!!!! Talk about VERSATILE!!! This is an incredible vintage Rustic deliberately distressed wood bookshelf, console table, cart, sofa table, or rolling bar with a lovely inset 12” x 12” vanilla colored ceramic top with convenient and quite FABULOUS new casters with clear polyurethane wheels and black metal brackets! We added the casters thinking they would add character and convenience, and not to “toot our own horn” but… TOOT!!! When you’re right, you’re right!! They are STELLAR!!! The back (or front depending how you use it) bears three vertical stabilizing beams nailed to the horizontal wood slat frame and the top is slightly elevated upon the sides giving the countertop a floating effect. It is SO COOL and I mean seriously… it does EVERYTHING!!! It’s finished all around so it will float beautifully in any room. Use the back as the front and you have a marvelous rolling bar and ample storage space under the inset ceramic top for beverages, glasses, cups, barware, or dishes of your choice. Use it in the dining room, kitchen, or roll it out to the Lanai and serve your guests beverages with eye-catching ease! Turn it around and use the other side filling it with your favorite magazines and book collection and call it a library or bookshelf or load it with your DVD player...

Awesome vintage Art Deco dry bar or liquor cabinet comprised of Philippine mahogany. Beautiful condition, keeping in mind that this is vintage and not new so will have signs of use and wear. We have added a new black painted base. There were several small areas that have been repaired or veneer replaced. Please see photos and zoom in for details. We attempt to portray any imperfections. Circa, Early to Mid-20th Century. It's 5 O’clock somewhere!! What a FANTASTIC vintage Art Deco dry bar or liquor cabinet!! It is comprised of wonderful Philippine Mahogany and finished all the way around so it can float nicely in any room you choose, plus we have added a lovely new black painted base… and it looks FABULOUS! The front double doors are spilt at the top and in the center by a wood handle that runs the length of the doors of the cabinet. So, you can open the smaller top section and leave the lower portion closed or vice versa. The right door closes over the left, so simply pull the right-hand door using the handle which reveals the inside of the cabinet featuring shelves and a small center storage unit with doors. Piano hinges assist each door in opening and the back of the doors are lined with a gorgeous vintage bark cloth...
