Teak Garden Trolley, circa 1925
About the Item
Wooden slatted garden trolley by Hughes, Bolckow & Co. Ltd. who were battleship breakers based at Battleship Wharf, Blyth, Northumberland. The company stripped the redundant ships and made furniture from the timbers of Britain’s old Battleships plus other household goods from the fittings of the ships. They claimed that they could completely fit out an entire new house with reclaimed timber! Selling directly from Blyth and from their London showrooms. 'Each piece carefully wrought by skilled furniture craftsmen'. Circa 1925.
Dimensions: 71cm/28 inches (length) x 40.5cm/16 inches (width) x 92cm/36¼ inches (height).
