Antique early 19th century German Biedermeier period mahogany centre / breakfast table featuring round form with inlaid fruitwood design supported by a turned and carved column on triangular base. Circa 1830s.
From 1815-1848, Northern European arts changed, particularly within Germany and Austria. We call this the Biedermeier period, which serves as something of a transition between the Neoclassical and Romantic periods in this region.
