French Mid-19th Century Louis XVI St. Giltwood and Marble Center Table
About the Item
A very elegant French mid 19th century Louis XVI st. giltwood and Brèche d'Alep marble rectangular center table. The table is raised by topie shaped feet below circular tapered legs with a fluted design with chandelles. The top of the legs decorated by acanthus leaves below a block design with a foliate rosette. The frieze is richly decorated by swaging laurel garlands all below a pierced apron with foliate designs flanking a central reserve. At the top lays the original Brèche d'Alep top with protruding square corner blocks and outer mottled edge.
