19th Century Italian Marquetry Pedestal Center Table

About the Item

19th century Italian Marquetry pedestal center table Exceptional Italian neoclassical walnut and satinwood inlaid center table from the 19th century. The circular top is beautifully inlaid in a Marquetry/parquetry Louis cube design with an intricate circular outline. The apron is veneered with a similar refined decoration and inlaid. This extraordinary turned baluster pedestal is intricately inlaid as is the tripod base. Each leg is inlaid in a feathering fishbone design. These patterns add color and interest to an already stunning shape. It is both a woodworking and geometrical achievement. The condition is good. Wear commensurate with age. Measurements: 27.5” diameter x 29.5” height Weight: 14lbs.
