Chinese 19th C. Leather Wrapped Trunk on Wood Base 'or Great Drinks Table'
About the Item
A Chinese leather-wrapped wooden trunk with brass and nail-head accents from the 19th century, and raised on a vintage wood stand. This coffer from China has a rectangular-shape body, decorated with brass banding nicely outlining and defining the edges, brass nail-head stud accents, and pulls at either short end. The brass is a wonderful contrast to the warm, patina of the leather. It gains height by being raised and displayed upon a vintage wood base with squared legs and petite inward-turned feet. This 19th century Chinese raised trunk with leather and brass accents will make a lovely accent storage piece, and would also function beautifully as a small drinks or coffee table.
