About the Item

Architect, graduate in 1989 of the Ecole Nationale Supe´rieure d’Architecture de Paris Belleville, Christian Biecher belongs to a new generation of creators whose sympathies lie with various paths crisscrossing different artistic fields. Architecture, Interior Decoration, and Design, all blended together by the same approach. He designed buildings in France among others : the Central Lending Library in Carcassone. In Japan, he designed the TUR Building in Tokyo and the Sora Community Center in Shiki. Lastly, he designed many products for Lanco^me, Christofle, Baccarat and very recently a vase for The Manufacture de Se`vres. Christian Biecher was the Prize winner of la Carte Blanche du VIA (2000). He was elected the Designer of the Year (Maison & Objets. Paris 2002) and Best New Designer (ICFF), New-York 2002. His work, as a designer, was presented as a one man show at the Muse´e des Arts De´coratifs in Paris (2002) and is represented in the collections of the Muse´e d’Art Moderne in Lisbon, the Muse´e des Arts De´coratifs, the Fonds national d’art contemporain and the Muse´e national d’art moderne-Centre Pompidou. A monograph : Christian Biecher. Architect , including an Essay by Philippe Tretiak has been published by A.A.M in October 2008. At present, he is in charge of redesigning the new Fauchon precincts around the world, the refurbishment of the old stock exchange in Budapest, the construction of an office building development in Prague, as well as the urban development Plan in La Grande Motte.
