Coffee Table by Raymond Subes in Marble and Gilded Wrought Iron, circa 1935

About the Item

Superb coffee / side table divided into a wrought iron base and a round / circular marble top. The patina of the wrought iron is golden and the marble is cream-coloured, slightly pink. In good condition. Art Deco, France, around 1935. By Raymond SUBES (1891-1970), a student of the Ecole Boulle and one of the most famous French Art Deco ironworkers. He worked his entire career in the company of Émile Robert, associated with Ernest Borderel; and collaborate with great decorators: Jacques-Émile Ruhlmann, Léon and Maurice Jallot, Jules Leleu... He also accomplished a lot of special orders for several ocean liners, the Banque de France, the Palais de Tokyo, major Parisian hotels and restaurants, airports, etc. Dimensions : Height 51cm Diameter 76cm
