About

The connect low table is made from charred and lacquered domestic hardwood and solid bronze. It's design is a visual reference to the process of making. The base qualities of the materials are presented simply in order to create a striking contrast of colors and planes. The raw bronze material will patina beautifully and imbues the piece with a timeless fineness. Refined bronze forging techniques and solid wood construction create a stabile but elegant presentation. Shown in charred maple and raw polished bronze Overall dimensions: 42" W x 26" D x 15" T All new format pieces are handmade in Vancouver, Canada.

New Format is a manufacturing and design firm based in Vancouver, Canada, founded in 2013 by principal Henry Norris. We use our background in architectural design and fabrication as the basis for explorations in furniture. Our motivation and interest is to take new ideas and apply them to the built environment around us. As part of our commitment to creating pieces of the highest quality, we produce and finish the majority of our work in house, at our 4000 square foot studio in Vancouver. By keeping our work close at hand, we are able to constantly experiment with the materials and refine our processes. We are inspired by problem solving and the ethos of hand craftsmanship.
