The Epicure III coffee table, 1 of 1 by Grzegorz Majka Edition 1 of 1 Dimensions: W 101 x D 147 x H 33 cm Materials: aluminium, quartz and brass “No man is an island entire of itself; every man is a piece of the continent, a part of the main.” The phrase “no man is an island” expresses the idea that human beings do badly when isolated from others and need to be part of a community in order to thrive. Exactly, like our new piece of art called The Epicure which could not present its beauty by itself. Only with the help of the other elements reveals the one complete part, one amazing complete “island.” Luxury doesn’t always follow the common patterns. Luxury goes beyond and almost like one of the best gourmets joins varied experiences, ingredients, recipes into one. Following this idea, we have selected the unique volcanic material such as Brazilian Quartzite Venom. Satin finish highlights the irregular shapes, veins and the pits of the stone element designed by the Mother Nature. The solid aluminium plate in “Antique Gold Brass” finish as the perfect fundaments of the stone table top highly influence the sophisticated and “Tasty” look of the whole part. Grzegorz Majka My first contact with stone designing was 16 years ago. At first I learnt all the methods and techniques used in stone dressing. The knowledge which I then acquired became particularly valuable to me and serves as a foundation of my activity to this date. Through my participation in various works connected with the installation of stone elements and continuous supervision of creative projects I gained the experience which is indispensable in natural stone designing. Years of hard and strenuous work plus countless advice from my uncle spurred me further into the stonework industry and helped me decide to launch my own business in the field. It was Adam Niessner, founder of Budonis Sp. z o.o. and my uncle, who showed me the world of stone. He left ineffaceable memories, for which I will be grateful to him to the end of my life, and instilled in me the love for natural stone. This very passion and love for stone designing made me search for newer solutions and applications for natural materials. Years of attempts and work on new practices in the treatment of materials such as glass, stone or wood, brought me to create a unique furniture collection, made with exceptional customers in mind.
