"Etiquettes" coffee table, Roger Capron, France, 1970's

About the Item

If you don't have the bottles, here are the labels made from "great fire sandstone"! Roger Capron, a great French ceramist who notably worked with Pablo Picasso, had an eclectic production combining sculptures and furniture across several decades of creation. This small cubic coffee table with a rustic look pays homage to the great cognac houses with their fossilized labels! Beautiful joints on the oak structure carrying the sandstone top. Capron humorously includes his signature on a label proudly displaying his prizes won in Milan and Cannes. An ideal table in a brutalist universe or at a tasting corner. This table has a deliberate patina reminiscent of certain old oak barrels roughnesses where the cognac rests.
