THE GOLDEN ROCK coffee table When one hears the term, “Golden Rock”, it’s hard not to envisage scenes of regal beauty. A mansion of gold glittering in the sunset, or a fabled mountain of treasure in the American Wild West, with unspoken riches hiding within. Bringing such opulence into homes across the country is MGM Project, headed by master craftsman Grzegorz Majka. The Golden Rock is an exclusive, never before seen coffee table built by Grzegorz and his team, which made its debut at Luxury Made 2016 in London, for which it was specifically designed and built. The Golden Rock coffee table was featured alongside a number of pieces from The Diamond Collection, and both ranges exhibited the endless possibilities offered by the use of natural stone and trends which the brand hope to go forward with in 2017. Grzegorz is confident that the use of 100% natural materials, combined with the expert craftsman’s keen eye for style and artistic quality pushes MGM Project’s appeal beyond the expectations of the luxury goods market. When the market called for unique luxury products, the MGM Project answered with The Golden Rock coffee table. Embodying the notion of being truly personalised, the Coffee Table is a truly unique offering to the interiors industry. Grzegorz designed The Coffee Table with the goal of creating a simple design with simple execution. Fitting together perfectly in a mathematical fashion, shapes fit together in symbiosis, combined with the finest specifically selected, expressive premium class materials. Speaking about his approach to MGM Project products, Grzegorz commented, “the purpose is to ﬁnd harmony of the two styles Minimalism and Art Deco, which together make up an entirely different dimension of designed interiors.” However, when working with natural stone, the biggest problem faced by craftsmen is the weight of the final product. Grzegorz counteracts this with The Golden Rock coffee table by using a stone countertop. This consists of two-centimetre thick onyx and folded in the shape of a box. This means that the thinner plates resemble a uniform 10cm top, but the weight makes transporting the Golden Rock coffee table much more feasible. Grzegorz’ innovative approach to design took shape in The Golden Rock coffee table in the way in which the Onyx top is based on a specifically designed frame, built of tasteful brushed brass. This allows The Golden Rock coffee table to be safely transported to every corner of the world, while remaining a very simple table installation. Grzegorz has always been known for his infinite ability to combine materials in the past, however The Golden Rock coffee table demonstrates an ascension into higher planes, recognised by the most acclaimed of art critics from all over the globe.
