About the Item
A rare brutalist coffee table featuring an etched bubble glass top and scrolled bronze base by Lothar Klute. Leaf and vine designs are artfully etched into the bubble glass and surrounded by flecks of orange and aqua. The rich texture of the glass top compliments the smooth, natural patina visible on the curved four-leg base. We believe that this coffee table was likely a custom design. Germany, 1980s.
Lothar Klute is a German designer from the late 20th Century who is well known for his elegant Brutalist furniture designs. Often combining forged bronze and glass, his style is unique with a focus on high quality craftsmanship. Throughout Lothar Klute’s career, he worked directly with many high end clients to design custom made, one of a kind pieces.
