Mid-Century French Regence Marquetry Walnut and Marble Coffee Table on Iron Legs
About the Item
Decorate a formal living room with this important antique cocktail table. Crafted in France circa 1950, and almost five feet square, the elegant table stands on cast iron cabriole legs ending with escargot feet and decorated with acanthus leaves at the shoulder. The large surface built with walnut and burl wood, features a Versailles parquet pattern decorated with burl inlay and embellished with variegated grey marble insets in each corner; the center is further dressed with a geometric stone medallion surrounded with a marquetry band motif. The important and colorful coffee table is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use; a rare one-of-a-kind!
