Milo Baughman patchwork coffee table, circa 1970s, American This table has been lightly cleaned respecting the vintage patina and it is ready to use. This 1970s patchwork coffee table is in the style of the American designer Milo Baughman. The patchwork pattern of dark wood and simple platform legs were features of Milo Baughman's designs for the American company Thayer Coggin. Many of his pieces had the repeated square or block form as in the patchwork, square top & block legs. These were features of the Brutalist movement at the time. This vintage coffee table would suit a range of interiors such as Mid-Century Modern, Minimalist, Industrial or contemporary. The complex and organic pattern obtained from the parquet wood make maximum use of the wood`s honest beauty. Stained a warm golden brown, the oak has a semi matte finish. The square top has parquet inset with an outer trim which discreetly highlights the form. The block legs have a square profile. At the top the leg is bevelled which creates a subtle recess before the top. This serves to lighten the appearance. This table is in good condition with a no major dents or scratches, there is a bit of rubbing to the finish in one area. The legs are solid and stabile. Packing is offered free of charge. This table would be wrapped in card and bubble wrap with an outer layer of stretch wrap. If necessary the legs can be removed and all the pieces packed in a box. Milo Baughman biography- Milo Ray Baughman was one of the leading modern furniture designers of the late 20th century.
