Propeller Coffee Table, Knut Hesterberg, Roland Schmitt, Germany 1964. The design team of Knut Hesterberg and Roland Schmitt came up with the iconic design of this singular table base. This table possesses a dynamic and graphic appearance because of its stunning sculptural profile. The table base began as a flat piece of circular aluminum before having three circular medallions removed equidistantly situated around the perimetre. The metal was then heated and torqued to achieve the sense of elevation seen here. The 3/4" thick glass top enhances the powerful presence of the table and provides ample space for use as a coffee table.
