About the Item

19th Century Qing Dynasty Altar Console Table with rustic patina. Original 19th century Qing Dynasty Rustic Altar Console Table. Solid elm wood of traditional Chinese joinery a beautiful console table having wear commensurate with it's age and us. A specail console table with "Giants arm" support braces to the underside of the top. Having tiered meander carved spandrels to the front side of the table. Legs tapering to shallow hoofed feet. The table has a brownish plum color to the wood which is the original lacquer un touched in original condition this keeping with the tables history and integrity for value. In good condition, rustic or distressed as the finish is concerned, the design remains elegant. See pictures. It would be very hard to find a table in it's original condition today. For this reason the value of the table to those collecting is worth more in this original condition.

The top apron scalloped with cloud carved spandrels set to sides of reeded column legs terminating to joined feet with carved arrow to sky strut detail.
