About the Item
A 19th-century French console table with its original Carrara marble top. The carved ebonized wood base is richly ornamented—floral reliefs, roped edges, and a central medallion complement its form. Barley twist legs are joined by stretchers that meet at a turned finial. The white marble top, softly veined in dove grey, is precisely carved to fit flush with the base.
Elegant under a mirror in an entryway or styled with candlelight and books.
Condition: Great antique condition. Minor age-related wear to the ebonized wood frame, primarily along the decorative trim. One lower support shows signs of an old break and prior repair. The base has been partially refinished by our team of restorationists, though light patina and small indentations remain visible. The original Carrara marble top is intact, with surface wear and faint discoloration near the edges, consistent with age.
