About the Item

This superb figured walnut games table has trefoil style corners to the fronts and is elegantly raised on carved cabriole legs, terminating on carved ball and claw feet, witch retain there original leather bound caters. To the centre of the table neatly concealed in the frieze, is a large long drawer. The quarter veneered feather and cross banded top, opens to reveal a baize lined interior, with four walnut counter wells and figured candle/drinks roundels to each corner. Attributed to Benjamin Crook Literature: Pictorial Diction of Marked London Furniture Makers, Page 169 - Fig:265. Benjamin Crook operated on the south side of Saint Pauls Church Yard from 1732 until may 1748 when he took the decision to retire.
