Petrified Wood Console Table on Custom Modern Base
About the Item
A petrified wood top modernly designed console table. This custom console table has been fashioned from a single thick slab of smoothly polished petrified wood, almost 3.5 feet in length. This fabulous petrified wood top is mostly black with shades of tan, rust, and bone at its edges and underside. The top is raised and presented upon a custom polished iron base consisting of four straight and squared legs, each braced with a cross stretcher at ground level between them. Petrified wood is a fossil, which over time, becomes so sturdy and dense that it is as heavy as marble, making it both an aesthetically pleasing and durable option for furniture. Note that this table is quite heavy, the top alone weighing 60 kgs (over 133 pounds), and should be secured to a wall (hidden mounting bracket is built into base).
