1950s Mid-Century Italian Wood and Brass Floating Executive Writing Desk Table

About the Item

Very elegant Italian Art Deco Mid-Century Modern executive desk writing table, with hexagonal shaped top and beautiful floating side drawers standing on central legs and junctions completed with great brass detailss. The unique and typical design, with the clean geometric shape and brass decoration enrich the natural pattern and grain of the wood making this a true statement piece in any interior style. The Art Deco style, here with the Mid-Century Modern influence, was all about making a big statement and was considered very glamorous, elegant, functional, and modern. Softly shaped patterns and smooth angles as is in the style of Gianfranco Frattini and Vittorio Dassi as well as other Italian Mid-Century Modern designers of that years such as Gio Ponti, Melchiorre Bega, Paolo Buffa and Luisa and Ico Parisi.
