19th C Regency English Mahogany Adjustable Reading Writing Table

About the Item

This handsome piece consists of two sections on a lifting ratchet, a fine mahogany Regency period reading/writing table featuring an adjustable top over a substantial base support. Retains the original mechanism to adjust the tray. The slanted book rest with pen holder can stand or lay flat Original brasses with replaced castors. Measurements below - the height of course being adjustable. The base measures 25 inches wide and 15.50 deep.

There are two four-paneled doors at bottom flanked with spiral reeded columns. This very substancial piece stands on eight turned feet and retains the original brasses and keys. Suitable as a buffet or with a free standing bowl, a bathroom sink with ample counter space.
