19th Century French Louis XV Brown Leather Carved Cherry Writing Table Desk
About the Item
Decorate a study, home office or library with this antique writing table. Crafted in the Poitou region of France circa 1850 and built of cherry wood, the desk stands on elegant cabriole legs over a scalloped apron; it features two drawers across the front with plenty of leg room under the center part. The large surface is dressed with the original light brown leather top decorated with embossed tooling motifs around the perimeter. Finished all the way around, the desk could also be placed in the center of a room. The Louis XV style desk is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, and adorns a rich light walnut patina. Key included.
