A very decorative piece, it is super collectable having the original date carved to the front with nice decorative carvings to the side. In a modern context this is the best kind of antique because not only is it beautiful, its functional, it still has a use today, the storage section can comfortably fit any modern laptop along with books and work apparatus, its really a very utilitarian desk It has all the original fixtures and fittings, the hinges are especially decorative being hand hammered and finished with wrought iron nails We have cleaned waxed and polished the desk from top to bottom, apart from normal age-related patina it’s in fine order throughout.
